A birch twig taken in early spring from my farm on the edge of the sea in Prince Edward Island, has been cast in sterling silver at the point of budding.
Birch is for new beginnings. The first year of the gaelic calendar, it is the bearer of Hope and a symbol of purity.
Freshwater pearls adorn this piece - also a traditional symbol of purity, echo the last vestiges of snow before the thaw.
