This listing is for a design consult for a custom piece of jewellery. Design consults will be conducted through email, messenger, phone and/or zoom call depending on the needs of the piece. The design consult fee is non-refundable and will be applied as a credit towards the final piece that we decide upon. We will email you to get started on the design process after we receive your order.
During our consultation, Kimberly will get to know you and your story - your vision and hopes for the piece you wish to create. We will discuss materials, select stones, and use your stories to create sketches to begin to breath life into your piece.
Kimberly will then, working within your budget, provide a quote for your piece. Because jewellery can range infinitely in price, knowing your budget range for your project before we get started is essential for Kimberly to be able to suggest materials and design elements that will align with what you intend to invest in your piece. Kimberly is dedicated to search out the very best quality diamonds and gemstones at the very best prices to suit her customers needs while fitting within their budgets.
As we work together to create a vision of your story, you will be shown sketches of your piece. Two revisions to these sketches are included in the design consult fee. Additional sketches are $75 each.
Our current creation time is 8-12 weeks from the time of down payment.

How much does a custom design piece cost?
My custom work starts at $2000 per piece and goes up from there (regardless of whether the client is supplying stones). The cost of your piece will depend on the time it takes to create your piece and the materials that we settle on together. You will be given a firm quote to be agreed upon before work begins. 50% is due as a non-refundable down payment before work begins, and 50% will be due upon pick up of your finished work. The starting rate for custom work is non-negotiable and I am unable to take on smaller projects at this time.
If you are looking to re-use heirloom stones, but not ready to enter into the design consult process, I am often able to repurpose your stones in our existing designs that you see available on the website. Feel free to email me a photo of the stones you have and a link to the existing Kuriosities design that you would like to use it in.
How long does it take?
The time your piece will take depends on the materials that need to be sourced, the methods of construction, and the complexity of your piece, as well as my current waiting list. Custom creations can range between 4-12 weeks depending on all of these factors.
What should I bring to our design consult?
I am currently conducting design consults by email, messenger and zoom call for the duration of the pandemic. Great things to bring/send are any photos and measurements of stones that you wish to use, pieces from my current collections that inspire you etc.
Can you melt down my old gold and silver and turn it into a new piece?
This is not a service that I currently offer. In order to provide you with the highest quality of work, I use only recycled metals that have been newly refined by my trusted supplier.
